The Yoga Room is a boutique yoga studio in the heart of Sheung Wan with four studios (3/F, 4/F, 6/F and 16/F) and our office on 15/F. Convenient to such locations as Central, Soho, IFC and Shun Tak, The Yoga Room is a sanctuary amidst the chaos below with its spacious and bright atmosphere.

With a focus on small classes and high-quality, personalized instructions, the teachers of The Yoga Room radiate with warmth and knowledge from their extensive and diverse trainings. All levels of practitioners are welcome – feel free to discuss with our instructors any of your special needs.




  • AntiGravity® Aerial Yoga

    Explore moving in all directions of open space with the Harrison AntiGravity® Hammock as you swing and soar your way to greater health & well being. This class introduces you to meditation, pranayama, and asana postures, while focusing on building upper body strength, core strength, flexibility, mobility and including a variety of zero compression inversions. Open to all levels.

  • AntiGravity® Stretch & Release

    This class focuses on stretching and releasing tension in the muscles with the support of the AntiGravity® hammock. With the help of gravity we can experience a deeper stretch in a more relaxing way. Students can also develop better balance and muscle control by using the support of the AntiGravity® hammock to balance and stretch in different yoga poses. There will be no inversions in this class and it is appropriate for all levels. Prerequisites: None.

  • Ashtanga – Intermediate to Advanced

    A modified form of the traditional Primary Series postures, this Ashtanga class is both a great workout and covers all basic poses. Ashtanga is taught in a sequenced form that is the same every time, lending one to true progress with the postures.

  • Candlelight Yin

    Candlelight Yin Yoga is a deep, meditative and often profound practice. Infused in the longer, more passive holds , the yin style involves surrendering into poses and exploring them for longer periods of time in order to let go of tensions stored in the body and to calm the nervous system. Practicing this way helps to target deeper connective tissues especially around the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Candlelight Yin Yoga is a peaceful way to end your day This practice will be lit entirely by candlelight helping us to balance our emotions, still our minds and open the deep connective tissues in the body using various yin asanas.

  • Core & Arm

    Our core centre has a lot to say about the stability and control in our asana practice. Arm balances are fun and yet challenging, but practice does not necessarily lead to satisfactory results. In this class, we focus on building strength and intelligence in the core area as well as trying to understand our bodies so we can be friend with the challenging arm poses. Expect to test your comfort zones and be surprised by your own ability.

  • Detox Yoga

    Breath, Twist and Flow. Detox yoga facilitates cleansing, clear out carbon dioxide from lung tissues, lactic acid, and lymphatic fluid from deep tissues. It soothes the nervous system, increase mental clarity and stimulates the digestive organs which decrease gas and bloating constipation, chronic fatigue, joint and muscle pain and possibly skin disorders. Suitable for all level students.

  • Gentle Flow

    Gentle Yoga consists of light asana movements, longer stretches and deeper breathings. This type of practice is a soothing practice meant to relax the body, integrate the emotions, calm the mind, release energy blockages and revitalize.

  • Hatha 1

    This class is designed with the beginner in mind. Whether you are new to yoga or recently overcoming an injury/ pregnancy, this is the class for you. Props such as blocks and straps are used to facilitate movement and detailed instructions are given. Sun Salutations will be introduced as well as all basic poses.

  • Hatha 2

    A general level Hatha class, this will be a class meant for everyone. A variety of poses with modifications for beginners/ advanced will be given. Great for everyone with a good pace!

  • Hatha 3

    Designed for intermediate practitioners with a consistent practice - this class takes the necessary mobility and stability attained from beginner / all-level classes to develop and move forward towards challenging asanas. Variations in poses are included for a smooth transition to move forward.

  • Hatha Alignment

    This practice is characterised by precision and alignment in the execution of the postures (asanas), sequencing of the postures towards desired results. Classes are often with themes, timing in the length of time and the asanas are held for maximum benefit, and the use of props if required to help a student gain the maximum benefit from each asana.

  • Hot Flow

    Also taught in a hot room, this class offers all the benefits of hot yoga, increasing strength and flexibility but follows a varying sequence of postures depending on the class and teacher. This flowing vinyasa class will guide you through a sequence of postures following your breath.

  • Hot Hatha

    A class that focuses on basic postures in a hot room. Sometimes the poses are combined into a set or series with each pose held for several breaths. Breathing is also rhythmic, with inhaling and exhaling as drivers of motion, as well as a way to find stillness. Great for beginners and for anyone looking for a good stretch or work on their alignment.

  • Mum & Baby Yoga

    This Mum & Baby Yoga class is a wonderful playtime for both you and your baby. In this 60-minute class, you will discover essential tips on gentle stretches and learn how to feel more connected with your baby and look after your body after pregnancy. While there will be lots of creative and fun ideas for mums to practice yoga postures with their babies, including a “baby yoga” sequence, you will also learn how to relax your baby and bond in a non-verbal way. The practice is so simple yet so powerful in what it conveys – your love, your understanding and your attention. * Suitable for babies from 6 weeks up to crawling.

  • Post-Natal Yoga

    Post-Natal Yoga classes provide a safe and effective way to ease the transition into motherhood, whether you are a first-time mother or already have children. Regain your strength and energy in a yoga class designed especially for new mums. Post-Natal Yoga focuses on rebuilding strength and stability in the abdomen, back and pelvic floor muscles; releasing tension in the neck and shoulders; and opening the chest. This class incorporates the mind-body practices of yoga to create a healthy and balanced post-pregnancy body. Using mindful breathing, conscious relaxation, meditation and simply being present, we realign your highest potential as a woman and a mother and you have all the tools you need for a calmer, happier and centered you. * Please consult your doctor prior to class to ensure you are ready to benefit from a gentle yoga practice. *

  • Power Vinyasa

    This class is filled with fun vinyasa sequences that strengthen and open your body through fast-paced, total-body flows. Power Vinyasa is a full-body experience that will not only develop your athleticism, but also provide the mental benefits of a breath-based practice. This plan is a great choice for intermediate yogis looking to build strength and be challenged by high-energy flows. Power Vinyasa class encourages you to explore your limits and challenge your practice through dynamic and continuous flows that build strength and increase endurance.

  • Pre-Natal Yoga

    Pre-natal yoga is an ideal preparation for labor and birth. The practice creates awareness and calmness; allowing the pregnant woman to feel her inner clarity as it brings confidence. Letting the mom feel peaceful as her anxiety concerning the birth process decreases. Yoga will help in a calm and mindful way enhancing the ability to breathe, relax and adjust to the physical demands of labor, birth and motherhood.

  • Restorative Yoga

    Restorative yoga is a form of yoga that seeks to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation with the aid of props in restful postures. Rest provides the body an opportunity to renew and heal. Restorative classes are a good complement to more active practices.

  • Restorative Yoga with Crystal Singing Bowls

    In this special restorative and sound healing fusion class, participants will relax in gentle yet full and deep stretching poses. The sound vibration of the crystal singing bowls will help you to release tension deep inside the body and ease the mind. It is a therapeutic and meditative practice that helps you to connect with the divinity within yourself. This is also a healing and recuperative experience that can balance chakra energy, improve circulation, sleep quality and productivity.

  • Singing bowl/gong meditation

    Relax and meditate to the vibrations to improve circulation, sleep quality and reduce stress. Each week this class will use the sounds of the singing bowls or the gong to promote deep healing at a cellular level.

  • TRX with Thera band

    A full body conditioning class that employs resistance loop bands to sculpt and tone the arms, legs, glutes and core. Thera bands can be adjusted to suit your fitness level - the beauty of this portable equipment. The perfect class to learn exercise movements that you can easily do at home.

  • Vinyasa 1

    Vinyasa is a movement which is synchronized to the breath, it is a term that covers a broad range of yoga classes. This style is sometimes also called flow yoga, because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. The breath becomes an important component because the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale.

  • Vinyasa 2

    Fluid transitions allow poses to flow from one to another developing strength, stamina and flexibility while also calming the mind. This class is designed for the intermediate practitioner. Notify the instructor before class begins if you would prefer modified or more challenging postures.

  • Warm Detox

    A slower paced yoga class that stimulates detoxification of the body. Warm Detox class is focused on twists along with back- and forward-bending in a warm room. As you move and breathe in class, your body’s energy shifts from a fight-or-flight response to a rest-and-digest response, re-routing energy from fighting or running away into digestion and the immune system. Suitable for all level.

  • Warm Stretch

    This class will be conducted in a mildly heated room to help you relax and stretch. Postures will be held for longer duration allowing the body to stretch well, which helps getting rid of stiffness and aches from the body. The restorative style of class will also help the body to release hormones that result in physical and mental relaxation. Both beginners and advanced practitioners are welcome to join the class, as it's an all levels class.

  • Wheel Yoga

    The wheel gives the individual the ability to expand, stretch and helps develop more flexibility and stability. With regular practice the yoga wheel helps newbies and intermediate students back bend more easily while increasing more flexibility in the spine, shoulders, quads and hips as well as improving balance. It is a yoga wheel flow class that everyone from beginners to advanced students can enjoy. The class will sync movement with breath while mixing vinyasa style yoga and wheel practice together for a wonderful heart opening experience.

  • Yin

    Yin yoga, is a very distinct style of yoga similar to hatha yoga that stretches the connective tissue rather than conditioning the muscles, the latter being the aim of most other styles of hatha yoga. Yin Yoga targets the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Yin postures are held three to five to ten minutes at a time. This type of practice complements the more muscular styles of Yoga.

  • Yin Yang

    Yin Yang Yoga blends the active sun or ‘yang’ energy of yoga asanas (postures) with the more reflective moon or ‘yin’ energy to bring strength and flexibility and a calm mind and relaxed body through the practices of breath work and relaxation techniques. This class blends the elements of yin yoga with those of vinyasa flow. The class includes some slow deep hip opening stretches and moves into a movement practice of connecting postures through breath.

  • Yin Yang & Meditation

    Our body has the ability and wisdom to heal itself, but we have chosen to listen to our mind more than our body. Our body is made to move, and our body is made to move freely, free from any alignment restrictions, moving beyond our rectangular mat. Guided by your intuition, your practice can be a combination of vinyasa, static hold, yin and chi-movement, depending on the needs of your body at that moment, you may find this a slow healing flow, whereas another person might find this a vigorous and detox flow. Either way, this practice can awaken your inner child, release any old judgments, nourish the love within yourself and let your body find its most appropriate form of healing for the body, heart, and mind. Listening to the body is the gateway to cultivate unconditional love for ourselves. The class will be concluded with 20 to 30 minutes of meditation. *This class is best enjoyed by practitioners who have at least one year of regular yoga practice.

  • Yoga Bou

    The prop of Yoga Bou will be used to facilitate movement and detailed instructions will be given. Sun Salutations will be introduced as well as all basic poses. Yoga Bou is a prop designed to help release muscular tensions in the body. Utilizing leverage, the bou (stick or rod in Japanese) creates greater power on one side as you push another side away from its center. As it works on smaller masses of muscles and those in deeper layers, it draws out joint mobility naturally available in your body. By awakening the deeper muscles, the bou will help realign your body axis, the basis of good posture, and release tension around shoulders and hip joints. It is also an effective tool to teach oneself correct alignments of yoga poses.

  • Yoga for neck, Shoulders & Hips

    Suitable for all levels, the class will incorporate gentle movements and deep stretches targeting the neck, shoulders and lower body to release muscle tensions, improve mobility and melt away stress.

  • Yoga for the Core

    Expect to energize the entire body in this all-level Yoga class with a focus on increasing strength and stability of the abdomen and pelvis. Develop a conscious connection to your core – improving posture and body awareness – while being guided towards a calm mind and steady breath, even in the face of challenge. Complete the practice with a grounding relaxation, and leave feeling rejuvenated and ready to enjoy the rest of your day.

  • Yoga Therapy

    Yoga Therapy is designed for anyone who has physical or mental stress such as back, neck and knee pain, migraine, insomnia, depression, fatigue after work etc. It consists of simple physical postures, breathing practice & relaxation techniques to keep your optimum health. The perfect class to relieve stress.


  • Pilates – All Levels

    This is a class designed for anyone that wants to improve their posture, core strength, balance and vitality. Small props are used to improve the body's range of movement and to stretch, lengthen and tone all the major muscle groups. Pilates improves circulation and helps relieve general back pain and stiffness. This class will teach you the basics and enable you progress to more advanced exercises as your core strength is developed.

  • Pilates – Intermediate

    This is a class designed for anyone that has certain level of pilates experience and wants to improve their posture, core strength, balance and vitality. Small props are used to improve the body's range of movement and to stretch, lengthen and tone all the major muscle groups. Pilates improves circulation and helps relieve general back pain and stiffness. This class will enable you progress to more advanced exercises as your core strength is developed.

  • Pre-natal Pilates

    •During pregnancy, the entire pelvic area is weakened by the pressure of the growing baby. Pilates helps to strengthen the pelvic floor and lower back which helps prepare for the labor process. •It strengthens the transversus abdominus and promotes relaxation because it focuses on lateral breathing. Lateral breathing opens up the ribcage and helps lessen the discomfort of a baby sitting in an extremely high position. You will experience less heartburn and pain between the ribs. •Increases over-all body strength through stretching, breathing to increase relaxation, and a combination of breathing/movement which helps improve circulation of blood and oxygen. This will enable a more focused, calm, less cranky pregnancy. •The movements in Pilates helps prevent inflammation and swelling around your joints. The combination of intentional breathing, controlled and expansive exercises all help to make the body comfortable in the crucial areas like the shoulders and neck, the lower back, and the hips/pelvis. Leg cramps are lessened. Habits that you establish during your pregnancy will carry over to your postnatal life. Taking Pilates during pregnancy means your body is going to bounce back faster.


  • TRX

    TRX is a suspension training in the form of resistance training that includes bodyweight exercises in which a variety of multi-planar, compound exercise movements can be performed. These are done with the aim of developing strength, balance, flexibility, and joint stability simultaneously. Suspension training develops upper and lower body strength and core muscles. This workout is suitable for most fitness levels.

  • TRX with Thera band

Once the Latin and world rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. A total workout, combining all elements of fitness - cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesomeness each time you leave the class.
